Brie Bullet And Black Cat Chatareters

Sydney and so ...

on Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera ... complete with
that we would eventually celebrate Christmas without even the family, gingerbread and the banquet, we would probably not before so long thought impossible. Now we can say: So if they did, then somewhere where it's warm! For example, in Australia or even Sydney ...

This small port city has just 3.6 million people and scores with reluctant sleepiness, clarity, and small town charm ... not!
Sydney is geographically huge inviting during the confusion of free and paid for roads (expensive) procedures. The approximately 90-minute drive from our home in the suburb of Richmond to the center turns out actually quite relaxed. We can already see the skyline, the target can not therefore be missed. Then we turn into a tunnel. When we again see the light of day, the skyline is put back into the distance - crap! Finally arrived at the destination, we are moving towards "Botanical Gardens" and "Opera".
The tried and tested mix of young and old ...

We quickly recognize that the city is as good as extinct (Note: Christmas Day = almost everything has to), while in the park properly what is going on. We sit at home, gnawing on a goose, to choral music, celebrate in front of the Christmas tree and listen to the residents of Sydney, the festival in a different way. You sit down with friends or family in the park, grill some juicy steaks and empties it one or the other sleeve of beer (or mal'n Weinchen) during the radio blasting out of the Beach Boys. As we left without breakfast, is the passage of this most delicious Scents and smells like a torture. We rely on our saddest dog looks anxious and scrape with their feet, perhaps to catch the odd treat. We harvest only shake their heads, probably because our drool dribbles on the steaks. Well ...
ant war before the opera
... and again with the skyline in the background.

But fortunately we reached with great difficulty and with every last ounce of strength an ice cream stand at the Sydney Opera where we first again provided us with energy. The Opera is smart to look at, although we're happy to have a read threw a glance. The Harbour Bridge is also impressive, but time is short, our ticket to the mobile housing unit expired soon. So we strolled through the pedestrian zone, past transactions connected by one or the other park and past many old religious buildings. And back to Richmond, we find without having to go through expensive highways, it turned out to be also quite simple, we had only really taken a wrong turn. No matter ...
... in Sydney, there's also lots of greenery.

After so many big city meet again after more nature and serenity. We pack our things and rush to the north. A visit of the Australians urlaubswütigen boiling over Norah Head, we agree that we need to escape all of this for now.

Newcastle was our next stop, and even if we did not see much of the city, she is here to stay but remember, for here we saw our first koalas and wombats.
... this blank stare ... Hello? Who's there?

In Blackbutt National Reserve, a protected area under indirect town nearby, supplies the city dwellers and our tourists do not only with beautiful hiking trails and kangaroos and emus under lock and key, but also with the other two national animals of Australia. The Wombat is not quite so vulnerable we are the Koala, but because of its nocturnal activity mode unfortunately often hit by cars. Nevertheless, he showed us very active during the day and very, very "I-will-it-with-to-take-home"!
Wombat ... A cute, hairy and thick ... like me!

The koalas are quite nice, but they have such a weird blank stare, perhaps because of the shrunken brain activity (this being decided in the course of evolution, to shrink their brains to conserve energy - please not to make at home).
... next to the food remains have time to stare at his own belly ...

The remaining route of flight is the same. A plate avalanche rolled north and we do not want to be swallowed by it. So we go late into the rainy night (well, not that!) Landscapes, until we treat ourselves to a lay-deserved beauty sleep. It rains throughout the night, which gives us a hand and a calming Dröppeln other hand, a puddle at the entrance.
rest stop romance in Van ...

Well, can not be changed. The weather has certainly improved, and we have not spoil the mood. left New South Wales - A short hike to a waterfall here (! short hike through the torrential streams, over fallen trees and leeches to the pants, but otherwise it was fine) , a beach walk there, then another night in a hippie village is duly adopted.
too fast for the Blügel: Jenny

about ... 100 meters to the bottom ... the waterfall Minyon

Queensland received us with a mixture of sun and thick, rich dark clouds. We first drove to the Gold Coast in the hope that the sun would seem cute, what she has done between then actually. So we could have breakfast on the beach and rumlatschen, while all others around it had to do sports like crazy. This was followed by by Brisbane, in the direction Glass House Mountains. This small mountain chain impressed us with its beauty and with his (mysterious) history. However, it impressed us that the rain seems to be your guide!
... these are the way to Lava stumps that remained after the erosion of real volcano ...

Although for a few days, only rare and short rains, the cool water is still everywhere from now on. Since many places heavily for months what has fallen from the sky, the streets are often affected, sometimes even been locked. Some regions are isolated from the outside world. We are concerned if that flooded a campsite here and there (and evacuated because of it), and the ride on these pool tables of roads is very tiring. In addition, currently is the link road to Cairns (we have to hand in two weeks, our car and get on the plane) at Bundaberg locked. We still have time to cross this area, so we need not panic.
... the lagoon at Noosa Heads

Easier said than done, a thousand and one thought buzzing through my head simultaneously. But what the hell, man and woman can make it straight eh nix. Therefore we have parked our mobile unit for the next few days in Tewantin and welcome first in the New Year!
Hackschrippe for dinner (today you can fondue!)
At night, temperatures are most comfortable ... that is why we are here to see out there too!
all a happy new year! Cheers!

you all a happy, healthy and happy new year, slipping in and no good Fool around, we would not do that!
