first From OpenOffice.org is libre office
OK, that's not entirely true, but almost ... So far, the open-source project was to create a free counterpart for MS Office under the aegis of Sun Microsystems. This company, however, was bought by Oracle. And so somehow OpenOffice.org. Oracle had a paid relatively quickly Version of the office suite introduced. In response to rapidly split off a few people and programmed on the suite of trademark issues, but under a different name: libre office. The goal should be, the project wi e been developing free and clear of any further corporate interests. Therefore libre office sees as the legitimate successor of the last free version of OOo 3.2.1 today, bringing out the first stable version, regardless of the new name simply numbered with 3.3 on. There are some features brings more with it as it is for a new version looks, of course, but otherwise exactly the same. I for my part, now my old OOo version libre uninstalled and installed office and I will soon introduce yet to work. Since many large companies from the open source world, including Google, Canonical (ie the patron of Ubuntu Linux; Libo will come along in 11:04 instead of OOo), RedHat, ... have pledged support, is here to develop safe to go further.
